YS Viveka Case: CBI Supports Sunitha's Petition,What's Next?
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Oct 2022 5:23 AM GMTWho killed Babai Vivekananda Reddy was the question that popped up before the 2019 general elections in Andhra Pradesh after he was found dead at his residence. Initially, it was reported that he had a heart attack. Later the death is dubbed as a brutal murder. In the past three years, the case went through many twists and turns.
The CBI came into the scene to probe the matter. Barring a few breakthroughs like Dastagiri turning approver, the central agency could not crack the case due to various issues. Probably for the first time, cases were filed against the CBI officers in the case. Many think that the cases are part of the effort to delay the probe.
On the other hand, YS Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Sunitha Reddy who has been fighting for justice in the case has moved a sensational petition in the Supreme Court seeking the transfer of the case from Andhra Pradesh for the speed-up of the probe.
It is her right to seek directives from the court to transfer the case as a daughter. Giving momentum to the petition, the CHI is said to have supported the petition and claims Sunitha made in it as far as the case investigation is concerned.
The CBI backed the claims and said that the cops and the accused have joined hands, which is not a good thing for the case investigation. Supporting their claims, the CBI lawyer mentioned how police received a promotion after giving statements in the case.
For a very long time, Sunitha has alleged that a few family members, including Kadapa MP Avinash, might be involved in the case and the investigation should be probed.
YS Sunitha and the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) are big forces in the case investigation and both parties are of a common opinion that the police and accused have joined hands and the accused are influencing the witnesses.
Now, this raised a big question on what the Supreme Court would decide. There are high chances of the Supreme Court saying yes to the demand as the CBI supported Sunitha's petitions. The points mentioned in the petition are visible and they are not mere allegations.
Political observers say that the transfer of case investigation would happen for sure unless the petition is countered. Countering the petition is not that easy. Moreover, approver Dastagiri said he is having a threat and his dog was also killed as happened with YS Viveka before he was killed.
