YSRCP to woo film industry big time!!
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 Sep 2022 4:23 AM GMTThe ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh seems to have failed in attracting the film industry into its fold. YSRCP's relationship with the film industry appears to be frosty at best. While some film personalities like Ali and Posani Krishna Murali are still with the YSRCP, big ticket actors, producers, distributors and directors are still keeping a safe distance from the ruling party.
Though YS Jagan himself is a big draw, he still needs some star power and it is important to bring some key film personalities into its fold, say political analysts.Souith several film industry biggies have offset the industry. Traditionally, the film industry has mostly been in favour of the Telugu Desam. The Jana Sena too is a film-industry based party. The BJP too of late is attracting film personalities like Mohan Babu and Jeevitha Rajasekhar. But, compared to all these, the YSRCP's penetration has been quite low.
Comedian Pruthvi came and went out of the YSRCP in a jiffy. Posani and Ali are sunset stars, who are well past their prime. As a result, the party is unable to attract big names.
However, YSRCP sources feel that there is an urgent need to cultivate supporters in the film industry. After all, Telugu politics are deeply intertwined with the film industry. Amid reports that the popularity graph of the YSRCP is falling fast in the urban areas, there is a need to rope in some vote-catching and voter-influencing personalities especially from the film industry.Political watchers say that the party is now planning to offer facilities for shooting in the coastal Andhra region. Similarly, special incentives are being planned to set up studios in the Vizag region. The party feels that there is a need to build a support base in the film industry. Analysts feel that the YSRCP could make some conciliatory gestures in the days to come to the film industry.
