ZP Chief Becomes Sacrificial Goat In Gangula-Etela Fight

The Gangula Kamalakar â Etela Rajender turf war is having the unlikeliest effect. With both the ministers engaged in a war of one-upmanship, the Karimnagar Zilla Parishad chief is emerging as the worst affected person.
Kanumalla Vijaya, the Karimnagar zilla parishad chairperson, is an Etela Rajender protégé. It was at the insistence of Etela that she landed In the prestigious job. But, after she became the ZP chief, Gangula Kamalakar was made a minister, mainly as a counterbalance to Bandi Sanjay as the BJP. Since then, Etela has stopped coming to Karimnagar. Both the ministers, who are from the same caste, see one another as a political rival.
The cold war between these two leaders has become a bane for Kanumalla Vijay. Gangula Kamalakar group is not inviting Vijaya to any function in the district headquarters. Recently when a testing centre was set up in the Karimnagar Civil Hospital, ZP chief was not invited. In fact, she has personally told the hospital medical officer to inform her about the arrival of Gangula and former MP Vinod. The RMO did not alert her and as a result, she arrived at the venue well after the VIP guests left the place.
When minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav came to Karimnagar recently, the ZP chief met him. During the chitchat, she was asked as to why she was not visiting Karimnagar town. It was then that she spilled the beans about how Gangula was ignoring and sidelining her since she was a Etela Rajender protégé. Now this has become a hot topic for debate in the district.
