Both states were combined ten years back. The voters' emotions would be similar to some extent. Parties and leaders in both states are looking similar. TDP, Janasena, BJP, Congress, and left parties are in Telangana and AP as well. After TRS became BRS KCR made the path easy to enter AP.
Will the Telangana results have an impact on Andhra Pradesh is the current debate now. Karnataka election results had an impact on Telangana results. Congress which was not in the race bounced suddenly. The party did not stop and rose to power.
When the Karnataka result had an impact on Telangana, why not the Telangana result on Andhra Pradesh is the question many have. The opposition can bank heavily on the opportunity. While the ruling party lost, the opposition Congress came to power. The same happened in Telangana. With this, the TDP leaders are predicting that YCP would lose and TDP would win.
If the question of whether the situation is favorable for TDP, a few issues should be mentioned. Both YCP and TDP which are aiming power are regional parties. TDP did not contest the Telangana elections and YCP does not exist here. Both parties do not have votes here and they cannot win the seats.
Karnataka saw the fight between BJP and Congress. Coming to Telangana it was BRS vs Congress. However, the parties that influenced Telangana are not in AP. There are only TDP and YCP and the fight is between the parties.
BJP which put up a strong fight in Karnataka was at the third position in Telangana. Congress which won the Telangana elections is not strong in AP. Both BJP and Congress have just one percent vote share there. Then why the Telangana elections will impact AP results is a logical question.
Many say that people preferred the opposition parties with the anger at the ruling party. While BRS won the elections in 2018, TDP lost the 2019 polls. The situation turned upside down. Five years back it was proved that Telangana results cannot impact AP results.
The politics in AP are different. The voting will take place on whether people want Jagan or Chandrababu. Who gets the support of voters will come to power. BRS lost the elections here and many say that the party won two terms. Citing this as an example YCP would get a second chance say many.
Even with this, there would be no comparison between the two states. The two national parties are not strong in AP. BRS is not that strong in the state. There is another question here.
Voters did not support Congress for ten years even though it gave Telangana by dividing the states. So Congress might not get votes in AP. There might be no impact even if an alliance is made with Congress. So the fight is between Jagan and Chandrababu. So the AP result would be different.
