It polled lesser votes than NOTA, but this party is dictating politics in AP
It is the BJP which is making the major political parties like the YSRCP
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 Aug 2023 5:03 AM GMTUsually, it is the dog that wags the tail. But in Andhra Pradesh politics, it is the tail, which I wagging the dog. Yes. The politics of the state are being dictated and directed by a party that had polled lesser number of votes than the NOTA. It is the BJP which is making the major political parties like the YSRCP, TDP and the Jana Sena according to its whims and fancies.
The BJP is keeping all the three parties guessing about its strategy. The YSRCP wants the BJP to stay neutral in the 2024 elections, while the TDP wants the BJP to align with it. The TDP strongly feels that it can defeat YS Jagan Mohan Reddy only when there is an alliance with the Jana Sena and the BJP.
The Jana Sena on one hand wants an alliance with the TDP, but also wants to be friends with the BJP. So, it is acting as a via media between the BJP and the TDP. The BJP, which is keeping the cards close to its chest, is keeping everyone guessing about its intentions. As a result, none of these three parties is daring to criticize the BJP.
Starting from the removal of Article 370 to the election of Draupadi Murmu as the president of the country, these three parties sided with the BJP. While the YSRCP is dependent on the BJP at the Centre for financial support, Chandrababu wants an alliance with the BJP. As result, the BJP is managing these three parties deftly and keeping all the three waiting. If this is not tail wagging dog, then what is?
