The intense campaign followed by Assembly polling concluded in Andhra Pradesh recently. Voters actively participated in the polling that happened on Monday. Though the timing for the polling was between 7 AM to 5 PM, polling continued till the voters who stood in Q lines cast their votes. Over all 78.36 percent votes were polled. Polling which started at 7 AM went on slowly initially.

During the initial two hours(7 AM-9 AM) just 9.21 votes were polled. But things changed by 11 AM as the voting turnout was 23.04 percent(between 9 am-11 am). By 11 AM, voters stood in Q lines to cast their votes. In turn, this impacted the polling. By 1 PM, the voting turnout reached 40.26 percent(11 AM-1 PM).

By 3 PM(between 1-3 PM), the pooling turnout was 55.48 percent. By 5 PM, the turnout reached 67.99 percent. However, the final vote turnout stood at 78.36 as those who stood in Q lines cast their vote. Interestingly, polling went on till midnight in some booths.

If we divide the polling in AP for every two hours, we can see interesting aspects. Between 11 AM and 1 PM, most people cast their votes. In the first two hours, just 9.21 percent turnout was recorded. 13.8 percent of votes were polled in the next two hours. Moreover, a massive turnout was recorded between 11 AM and 1 PM. The two hours can be seen as a big highlight in the polling. In these two hours, around 17.22 percent of voters cast their votes.

If we look at the polling pattern between 1 PM to 3 PM, 15.23 percent was recorded. Between 3 PM to 5 PM, it was 12.5 percent. 10.37 percent of polling was recorded by the time voters in the Q line cast their votes. Compared to the first two hours, the polling percentage was high when voters in the Q line cast their vote after the polling hours.
