Having been in politics for a long time, the Telugu Desam Party has a few fortresses in Andhra Pradesh. Defeating the party in those seats is next to impossible. Hindupur is surely among them. The legacy of the seat is that Nandamuri family members have been winning the Assembly segment.

Earlier TDP founder won the seat and later Harikrishna won the seat. He was the MLA from Hindupur between 1996–1999. He became the state Transport Minister and brought many changes. The legacy is now carried by Nandamuri Balakrishna, the sitting Hindupur MLA.

Balakrishna won two consecutive elections in 2014 and 2019. He is in the race again and wants to record another win. Balakrishna is busy campaigning for the elections. Many say that he will record another win and make a hat trick of wins.

On the other hand, YCP put a social focus on the seat and Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy toured the constituency and had a busy time. A woman leader was announced as the candidate from the seat. However, it looks like the efforts are not enough to stop the Nandamuri hero.

In what could be a big advantage for the TDP, a former cop who contested against Balakrishna in Hindupur in 2019 joined the TDP recently. He extended his support for the party in the upcoming elections.

Usually sitting candidates have an advantage and Hindupur has a special bond with the family. Balakrsihan has good ties with the cadres and leaders there. If there is any occasion Balayya Babu attends them. This is an example of strong bonding.

Considering all these points many say that Balakrishna will win another term and make a third consecutive win. It appears that the hard work the ruling party is putting in to win the seat might not be enough and Balakrishna might win another election.
