Bhuma family split: TDP groups organise separate protests for Chandrababu

The differences between the famed Bhuma family and the TDP have come to the fore in Nandyal at a time when all the TDP leaders should put on a united front. Yes. You guessed it right. At a time when all TDP was protesting across the state over the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, Nandyal TDP’s split was wide open.

The party leaders had organized their protest dharnas in different places. In one camp was former minister Bhuma Akhilapriya along with her supporters. But in another camp, her brother and former MLA Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy staged a separate protest. Another Bhuma sibling, Jagad Vikhyat Reddy has already announced that he would be in the electoral fray to ‘fulfil the dreams’ of his father.

Two of Bhuma’s strong detractors – former chairperson of the state warehousing corporation AV Subba Reddy and former speaker N Md Farooq – have also joined hands with Brahmananda Reddy. They and their supporters joined Brahmananda Reddy’s protest site and showed their solidarity with him.

This is being seen as a direct challenge to Akhila Priya. This also showed that the family is vertically split. Sources say that AV and Farooq have joined hands with Brahmananda to spite at Akhila Priya. As a result of this split, several TDP workers, who do not belong to any of these groups, have largely stayed away from the protests.
