By: Tupaki Desk | 17 July 2023 12:43 PM GMTEveryone saw what had happened in Maharashtra a few weeks back. Ajit Pawar who was with his uncle Sharad Pawar switched sides all of a sudden. He and eight other MLAs took oath as the Ministers in the BJP-Shiv Sena(Shinde) government. Many say that this is BJP’s game plan. BJP did a similar thing in Bihar a couple of years back. However, the saffron party stitched the party it divided earlier.
Ram Vilas Paswan is among the tall Dalit leaders not only in Bihar but in the country. He founded a party named Lok Janshakti Party. He died a couple of years back. His son Chirag parted ways with BJP later.
However, BJP divided the Lok Janshakti Party. The party encouraged Pashupatinath Paswan. He was given the Central Ministry who has the support of five MPs.
The Lok Janshakti Party won as many as six Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 polls. Chirag is one among them. But BJP brought a crack after Ram Vilas’s death. It made Pashupati start a party named Pashupati Rashtriya Lok Janshakti.
Now BJP is making them join hands. After Pashupati left, the Lok Janshakti Party was left namesake in the leadership of Chirag. However, Chirag’s importance cannot be written off as the son of Ram Vilas. Moreover, the BJP should be very strong to lock horns with the JDU-RJD-Congress government in Bihar. Seeing that Dalit votes dividing between them would be tough, BJP is joining Chirag-Pashupati. Union Minister Nityanand Rai is said to have held talks with the two sides.
However, Pashupati is said to be showing some stubbornness in this regard. Chirag was even invited to the NDA meeting. Pashupati-Chirag are eyeing the Hajipur seat which was represented by Ram Vilas. Pashupati is representing the seat while Chirag is representing the Jamui seat.
Chirag is placing a few conditions to join the NDA. like 6 Lok Sabha seats and one Rajya Sabha seat. He is also asking for six Lok Sabha seats that are won in 2019 by Lok Janshakti Party and replacing the Rajya Sabha seat that became vacant after his father’s demise, reports said.
