Hero six months ago, today BJP is zero in Telangana

Six months ago, the T BJP looked like a stallion and was seen racing for the top post. But, now, the party looks anything but serious about the 2023 assembly elections in Telangana. The party is in complete disarray. If sources are to be believed, the party will deteriorate further by the time the election notification is issued.

On Friday, a senior BJP leader and his wife, who is a GHMC corporator, have resigned from the BJP and joined the BRS. The leader in question, Venkat Reddy, was the former president of the GHMC BJP and has worked for the party for several decades.

Venkat Reddy and his wife went over to KTR and joined the BRS. This couple is from Bagh Amberpet, which comes under party state chief G Kishan Reddy’s assembly constituency.

What is more worrisome for the party is that four of its corporators have already left the party and joined the BRS. If sources are to be believed, another four BJP corporators are said to be in touch with the BRS. They too could join the BRS at the right time.

This would considerably weaken the party in Hyderabad city and its surroundings.

What is shocking for the party is that there is opposition to even G Kishan Reddy, who is considered quite mild-mannered and friendly to all. Unlike Bandi Sanjay, he has not formed any group of his own in the party. He has been silently working to repair the damage caused to the party due to the recent developments. But, now he finds himself in soup as the defection is from his borough.
