Earlier there was an opinion that there is no big buzz for the Lok Sabha elections this time. But the political heat started picking up after the first phase of elections with a war of words between the ruling BJP and Congress. BJP’s claims of Congress's plans to distribute the wealth within the Muslim Community created a big sensation.

Now there is a big sensation around inheritance tax. The ruling BJP has been alleging that Congress will not spare even the dead and the taxes will be implemented. The Congress party is trying hard to distance itself from the issue.

A video is now doing rounds in which Congress leader Sam Pitroda can be heard saying that inheritance tax is evident in the US and the law is good. This gave an important weapon for the BJP to go after the Congress and attack the party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also blasting the Congress saying that the party will loot people even after their death and this is the ugly nature of it. Narendra Modi said that there are a few people who think Congress as their property and the same people don't want others to give the property to the next generation.

Addressing a big gathering Narendra Modi said that Congress will impose a higher tax on the people and even after the death the inheritance tax will be imposed.

Understanding the heat of the comments, the Congress party is distancing itself from the comments. The grand old party said that what Sam Pitroda said was his personal opinion and the party won't endorse them.

As the inheritance tax is getting all the attention many wonder what this is and how it works. The inheritance tax works in a way that if a person dies with property and wealth, only 45 percent of it will be transferred to the family and the rest goes to the government.
