The recent controversy surrounding producer Dil Raju's comments about the Sankranthi festival and the subsequent decisions regarding ticket price hikes for Game Changer has sparked significant political and cultural debates in Telangana.

At the pre-release event of Venkatesh's Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam in Nizamabad, Dil Raju remarked that the Sankranthi festival lacks the same vibe in Telangana as it does in Andhra Pradesh, associating Telangana’s festivities with "white toddy and mutton meat."

This comment has drawn sharp criticism, particularly from Telangana cultural advocates and political leaders.

BRS party MLC Deshapati Srinivas openly condemned Dil Raju's remarks, stating, "If there is no vibe in Telangana, stop making films here. If you want vibe, open a toddy compound or a meat shop."

He criticized Dil Raju for his alleged lack of understanding and respect for Telangana culture and called for accountability from the state government, particularly Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, for granting special permissions to Game Changer.

Also, another leader Rasamayi Balakrishna also accused Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy of displaying a double standard in supporting the ticket price hike.
