The ruling BRS in Telangana started its election preparation and as a first big step, the party announced the candidates list. There are 119 Assembly seats and the candidates were announced for only 115 seats as four seats were kept on hold. Goshamahal is one of the seats that are kept on hold.

Giving tickets to sitting MLAs is a strategic move by the parties and the winning chances would be high.BRS did the same and went ahead with the sitting MLAs in many seats. However, seven sitting MLAs did not make it to the final list of candidates.

Vemulawada: Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu, who has been representing the temple town for a few terms. But he is said to have issues with the local leaders and his German citizenship is another big issue. His citizenship issue often hits the headlines and the leadership might have decided to not face any issues with this.

Boath: This is one of the 2 constituencies in the Adilabad district. Rathod Bapu Rao won the two consecutive elections and many felt that he would get a third chance. However, the party picked Anil Jadav in the place of Rathod Bapu Rao.

Station Ghanpur: Station Ghanpur MLA Tatikonda Rajaiah hits the headlines with some or the other issue. He is said to be having issues with senior leader Kadiyam Srihari as well. But he faced a big blow with Kadiyam Srihari getting the ticket.

Asifabad: Lucked shined in favour of Kova Laxmi as she was selected as the candidate from the seat. Incumbent MLA Athram Sakku was left out as the issue he has been having with the local leaders might be the reason.

Wyra: Ramulu Naik is an ex-cop who started his career with Congress. He contested as an independent candidate in the 2018 elections and later he joined the BRS. In his place, ex-MLA Madan Lal was picked.

Uppal: Sitting MLA Bethi Subhas Reddy has been facing some issues and the corruption charges might have played a big role in him not getting the ticket. Bandari Lakshma Reddy was given a ticket from the seat in Subhas's place.
