The Congress party which is in power wants to continue its dominance in the state. On the other hand, the BJP wants to spread its wings in Telangana. In the wake of the Lok Sabha elections, the political heat in the state increased further. The political observers say that the main fight will be between Congress, BJP, and BRS. However, the reports say that Congress is not considering BRS as the opponent and sees BJP as the target. Congress thinks that the BJP would be an obstacle for it in winning more Lok Sabha seats.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BRS party won nine seats followed by BJP and Congress with 4 and 3 seats respectively. MIM won the Hyderabad seat. Despite being in power, the BRS had managed to win just nine seats which can be seen as a big setback. BJP won Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Secunderabad and Adilabad seats. BJP wants to win the sitting seats and spread wings in other seats too. Congress which won three seats-Malkajgiri, Nalgonda, and Bhongir last time wants to win 15 seats this time.
Being in power is the advantage the Congress has. But the situation would be different in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP which won two consecutive terms wants to score a hatrick win. It is going forward with Modi's image. BRS which lost the Assembly elections and became weak with the key leaders leaving the party is fighting for its existence. With this, the BJP became the main opponent of Congress. The Congress which wants to dethrone the BJP at the Centre is aiming at targeting it in Telangana too. With this, the state wing leaders were advised to highlight the Modi government's failures. At the same time, the Congress leadership also directed the leaders to take the guarantees to the public.
