Chandrababu's biggest confusion: I.N.D.I.A or NDA?

TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu is now in a fix. He is unable to decide what his stand should be. No..!! He is not bothered about some development in Andhra Pradesh or about who he should give ticket to. He is now worked up over national politics. He is now utterly undecided about which side he should be on the issue of the no-confidence move against the BJP government in the Centre.

His arch foe YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has already taken a stand and has extended unstinted support to the BJP. YSRCP's general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy has said that the no-confidence motion was unnecessary. This has put the TDP in a spot of bother. It is in a state of confusion as to what stand it should take.

There is no love lost between Modi and Chandrababu. Naidu himself withdrew support to the BJP government before the 2019 elections and contested alone with disastrous results. But, now he wants to mend fences and wants the BJP on his side. As a result, he cannot oppose the BJP at this stage, especially when he wants the BJP to be with him in the 2024 elections.

On the other hand, the opposition parties have completely ignored Chandrababu Naidu. No leader worth his salt has come to meet Chandrababu and seek his support for either opposition unity effort or for the no-confidence motion. Time was when Chandrababu Naidu was the chairman of the United Front and later the chairperson of the NDA.

But today, no party has bothered to meet him. Hence, despite his antipathy to the BJP, he is finding himself in a catch 22 situation. He cannot oppose the BJP on one hand and he can neither join hands with the Congress.
