TDP finds Chandrababu has no friends at national level

The TDP is surprised that despite its long history of playing a key role at the national level and ruling the state for over 30 years, it is totally friendless. Contrary to expectations, there is not much support to the party after Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest. They are also shocked to see that the TDP leaders and cadres are not spilling onto the roads .

The party leadership is worried that the BJP has not come out in support of arrested Chandrababu Naidu. Though state BJP chief Daggubati Purandeswari is planning to seek permission of authorities to meet jailed Chandrababu Naidu, the party per se has remained ambivalent. It did not join the AP bandh called to protest Chandrababu’s arrest.

The Left parties too have been quite guarded in their reactions. Pawan Kalyan has extended unstinted support, but his cadre appear to be not as much enthusiastic. They seem to remain content with token protests. Unfortunately for Chandrababu, except Akhilesh Yadav, Kumaraswamy and Mamta Didi, there is no statement from any national leader. In fact, both Akhilesh and Kumaraswamy are out of power and only Mamta Didi is in power.

The BRS, which is in power in neighbouring Telangana too has not commented on the arrest. Both Harish Rao and KTR evaded answers and said it was an internal matter of AP state. This has shown that Chandrababu is totally isolated at the national level.
