The much-talked-about AP Skill Development scam shows no sign of giving relief to former Andhra Pradesh CM and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. As a sensational development, he was arrested and sent to remand for 14 days. The investigating agency Crime Investigation Department (CID) is going forward aggressively in the case.

The agency sought directives to take him into five-day custody to get more information. However, the lawyers representing Chandrababu Naidu placed their arguments by asking what is the need for the same. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the special court reserved its verdict and is expected to announce it soon.

On the other hand, the judge of the special court asked Chandrababu Naidu for his opinion. Talking about custody, the judge is said to have told CBN that the CID is asking for your custody and that his lawyers are opposing.

The ACB Court extended the remand period by two days. The CID wanted the remand time to be increased and to take him into custody. The special court extended the remand by two days and we would get clarity on the custody soon.

Chandrababu Naidu has been saying that he was arrested for political issues. It is said that he said the same during the hearing today as he was presented before the court through a virtual hearing. Having said that, the TDP supremo cited the mental stress as a reason and talked about safeguarding his rights.

The judge of the special court is said to have made some key comments in this response. The judge reportedly said that the law is equal for everyone and asked CBN to not see remand as punishment. You are facing just allegations and further investigation will reveal more details.

Chandrababu Naidu’s lawyers said that the judge asked Chandrababu to take remand sportively and the allegations against him are not proven. The remand was extended as a few petitions against him are pending.

The suspense on Chandrababu’s custody to CID continues as the court is likely to announce the verdict at 2:30 PM. Within a few hours, we will get clarity on this. Before this, the quash petition filed by Chandrababu Naidu will get a verdict by 1:30 PM from the High Court.
