Centre To Put A Tab On Which Channel Supports Which Party?
Interestingly the information is gathered at a war foot from the regional departments of Doordarshan Yadagiri(Telangana) and Saptagiri(AP).
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Oct 2023 6:47 AM GMTIt is said that the Centre is keeping a special focus on the poll-bound Telangana and AP which will go to elections soon. Centre is said to be getting special reports on the local media in the two states. Who is running the channels in the districts? Which party do they support? From when the channels are running? How many channels are there and what are the numbers of the owners? The Centre is reportedly gathering details of these aspects.
Interestingly the information is gathered at a war foot from the regional departments of Doordarshan Yadagiri(Telangana) and Saptagiri(AP). It is said that a special list of channels that can influence local politics was asked to be prepared. With this, the regional heads of the DD Channels were sent the directives. Now they are busy gathering the required information.
Generally, the regional channels influence politics. It is not possible to run the channels without political backing. Their influence will be at the ground level. Having understood this, the bigwigs in the BJP at the Centre are said to have asked for the information. Political observers say that looking at the consequences, BJP might either restrict the channels or make them in their favour. Let us wait and see what happens.
