With elections fast approaching and the BRS already armed with its list of candidates for all but four seats, one expects KCR to go ballistic. But, KCR is in his usual 'watch and wait' mode. He is on one hand trying to douse the fires of dissidence within the party, but is also working hard on the other hand to mend fences with those he has made rivals all these years.

After trying to resolve the differences with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, with whom he fell out during the inauguration of the Samatha Murthy statue, KCR is now appearing to work over time to normalise the relations with Governor Tamilisai Saundararajan. KCR's differences with Tamilisai are well-known and both had several showdowns in the past.

Recently, the CM and the governor had a 30-minute tete-e-tete on the sidelines of the swearing in of Patam Mahender Reddy as a minister. During the meeting, KCR reportedly invited the governor to visit the secretariat and also be present during the consecration of the temple, church and the mosque in the secretariat complex.

The governor readily agreed to the proposal. This is being seen as a thawing of the relations between the governor and the chief minister. It appears that KCR does not want any enemy ahead of the assembly elections, which would be held sometime later this year.
