More than 150 films to his name. Hits and blockbusters, touching performances as actor. Unmatched following and stardom. The tagline of the undisputed king of Tollywood with consecutive hits. This is the legacy Megastar Chiranjeevi created for himself in his glorious film career.

The veteran star added another glorious feather to his illustrious cap as he was conferred with the second-highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan. The film industry erupted in joy and Congratulatory messages poured in from various corners. He was felicitated by the Telangana government along with the other Padma Awardees.

Addressing the gathering Chiranjeevi appreciated the Telangana government for the decision to keep Gaddar’s name for the Nandi Awards. He also lauded the government’s decision to felicitate the winners.

But what caught everyone’s attention was Chiranjeevi’s comments on politics and why he left the space. Saying that the personal attacks increased in the current politics, Chiranjeevi said that only those who can strongly counter those attacks would continue.

Saying that there should be dignity in politics, Chiranjeevi said that unable to deal with the personal attacks in politics, he called it quits. The trend of such attacks is increasing which is concerning and observed that people have the power to teach such leaders a lesson.

Chiranjeevi started the Praja Rajyam Party in 2009 with a lot of expectations. The crowds at the meetings made many feel that the party would script history. But the party fell short of expectations as it managed to win just 18 seats in the combined state.

Later he merged his party into the Congress party and he was made the Rajya Sabha member. Chiranjeevi served as the Tourism Minister. Later he became inactive in politics.
