ChatGPT has become a sensation in the world of late. We can get terabytes of information by asking any question using the tool. Many say that there are positive and negative impacts of the tool. There are a few opinions that fraudsters would search for ways to escape with the tool and ChatGPT might help the fraudsters in doing cyber crimes and escaping from them.

Amid this, the Delhi High Court made some sensational comments. During a case hearing, the Court made the comments. The Court said that artificial intelligence cannot be an alternative to human intelligence or the humane element in the adjudicatory process. The court made it clear that ChatGPT cannot be a parameter to deliver a verdict and confirm the truth. The Delhi High Court mentioned that the accuracy of Chatbots and till which point we can depend on them are still in testing stages.

The Delhi High Court said that, currently, ChatGPT can be used for only preliminary investigation and understanding. Recently, Justice Prathiba M Singh gave the verdict in the petition filed by luxury chappal and shoe manufacturer brand Christian Louboutin. The lawyer representing the brand asked the court to see what ChatGPT is talking about its sign and prestige. The bench said that based on the question and the training the answer will come. The bench also said that there are possibilities of the answers being wrong.

Media reports say that the Delhi High Court bench observed it appears that the defendant copied the products of the petitioner to earn money. Notices were served to the defendant to not copy the colour and products of the petitioner.

Having said that, the Court directed the defendant to make an agreement with the petitioner. If violated, they have to pay a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs. The defendants were directed to pay Rs 2 lakhs as expenses for the petitioners.

As a single treatment for various diseases, people depend on ChatGPT. Students are using the tool for their assignments, project work, and thesis. There is a strong criticism that, instead of doing their work they are using the service of ChatGPT. Delhi High Court’s verdict amid this gained importance.
