YCP Names Deputy Chief Minister Against CM Ramesh!

The YCP leadership announced Deputy Chief Minister Budi Mutyala Naidu as the candidate from the Anakapalli MP seat. It is being reported that he might be the candidate. Putting an end to the suspense he was announced as the candidate. CM Ramesh is the alliance candidate from the seat and this was announced recently.

All eyes are on the YCP as the alliance announced the candidate. CM Ramesh is a big shot who is a big name. The alliance thinks that he is the right candidate. Despite not being a local candidate he was given a ticket. There are many aspirants from the BJP and former Minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu hoped for the seat for his son.

It is said that an industrialist from the Kapu leader also pinned hopes on the seat. Pawan Kalyan’s brother Nagababu was also in the race. But BJP picked CM Ramesh and picking him is seen as a strategic move.

There is an opinion that more than his contacts with Vizag and what he knows about Anakapalli, his position might have played a role in the strategy to get the ticket. YCP has a positivity in Anakapalli.

There is an edge for the party in the MP seat. Thinking that fielding a strong candidate would impact both MP and MLA segments the alliance might have opted for CM Ramesh. It is said that YCP knows CM Ramesh’s candidacy and announced Budi Mutyala Naidu as the trump card.

He won the Madugula seat twice in 2014 and 2019. Earlier the seat was the strong zone of TDP. But he won the seat. He is known as the loyalist of Jagan. When YCP was in opposition between 2014-19 he did not leave the party. After coming to power he was made the Deputy.

He is contesting for the Lok Sabha for the first time. Budi Mutyala Naidu hails from the Koppula Velama community and has a good hold on the district. He often stayed away from controversies and corruption. He has good ties with the people. YCP might have felt that he could be a winning horse and picked him. His daughter Erli Anuradha who is a ZPTC was given an MLA ticket.

This has been reported for a long time. Budi reportedly asked the leadership to give his daughter a chance, not him. But many say that YCP made a good choice by picking both him and his daughter. In the 2021 local body polls, Anuradha won as ZPTC. Many say that she would have been the ZP Chairman.

She is a district leader. She is developing as the correct heir of her father. Velama, Kapu, and Gavara communities are in big numbers in the Anakapalli MP segment. People from the communities have been winning the polls. From the Kapu community, Pappala Chalapathirao won the seat in 2004 as TDP leader.

In 2009 Congress leader Sabbam Hari won the seat. In 2014 Avanthi Srinivasa Rao won as TDP from Kapu. In 2019 Beesetti Satyavathi won from the Kapu community. Aspirants from Velama are in a race from Alliance and YCP. With this an aspirant from the community would get the MP seat.
