EC Announces Election Dates For Lok Sabha, General Elections!
Phase one of Lok Sabha elections will be held on the 19th of April and 21 states will be covered. In the second phase seats in 13 seats will go for elections.

Since then all eyes were on the EC to see what the election body would say and how and when the elections will be held.
In the Press meet the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The Lok Sabha elections will be held in a phased manner. In every phase, the elections will be held in a few states. Considering aspects like festivals, exams, and others the Lok Sabha elections will be held in a phased manner.
Phase one of Lok Sabha elections will be held on the 19th of April and 21 states will be covered. In the second phase seats in 13 seats will go for elections. May 7th will see the third phase in 12 states. On the 13th of May, 10 states including AP and TS will see the polls.
The fifth phase of elections will be held on the 20th of May(8 states), followed by the 6th and 7th phases which will be held on May 25 and June 1 respectively.
The Lok Sabha elections will start on 19th April and the vote-counting process will start on June 4. The results will be announced on the same date for the Lok Sabha and general elections too.
Election Schedule For Andhra Pradesh: As per the election schedule the elections will be held for all the Assembly segments on the 13th of May. The votes will be counted on June 4. As the election schedule was announced the Election Code will be effective for two months and 18 days. Compared to the previous elections, the elections will be held 32 days late.
Sikkim: The Northeastern state will go for the elections on the 19th of April. The notification will be announced on the 20th of this March. The applications will be accepted till March 27. March 30 is the last date for withdrawing the applications. Votes will be counted on June 4.
Odisha: The state will go for elections in four phases and the dates are May 13, May 20, May 25, June 1. The state has 147 MLAs and Biju Janata Dal is in power as it won 112 seats last time.
Arunachal Pradesh: The state with 60 Assembly seats will face the elections on the 19th of April. The notification will be announced on 27th March. The scrutiny of the applications will be held on the 28th of March. Along with others, the votes will be counted on June 4.
