India is the largest democracy in the world. The representatives are elected to the House to raise the issues faced by the people. It is their job to be the voice of the people as the elected representatives. Not just in India, this is the standard procedure in any country.

India will go to the much-awaited Lok Sabha elections soon. Ahead of the elections a shocking data had come out which says that 9 MPs did not speak in the house in the total tenure. 9 is a small number considering the total strength of the House in the Parliament.

But not speaking in the house says that the purpose of sending them to the House was not fulfilled. Out of 9 MPs who did not speak in the house, 6 MPs belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Sunny Deol, Shatrughan Sinha, Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi(Karnataka), Atul Kumar Singh(UP), Dibyendu Adhikari (West Bengal), B.N. Bachegowda (Karnataka), Pradhan Baruah ( Assam), Anant Kumar Hegde (Karnataka), and V Sreenivasa Prasad ( Karnataka) are the MPs who did not speak in the House in 17th Lok Sabha tenure.

Sunny Deol is a popular Bollywood actor known for his over-the-top action. His recent film Gadar 2 created a sensation. He is famous for his voice and despite this, he did not speak. However, he made some contributions in the form of written materials.

MPs not speaking in the house had two reasons. One is that they won't get a chance to speak and the second one is that they are not interested in asking any questions. Earlier Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha also did not make any contribution in the House. They were not even present for most sessions.

No matter what the MPs not making contributions in the House is not appreciable as the purpose of sending the members is that they will raise the questions and speak on behalf of the people.
