The polling for 102 Lok Sabha seats across the nation is underway. While 1625 candidates are in the race for the elections,16.6 crore voters will exercise their right to vote. As part of the first phase elections, the MP seats in 21 States, and Union Territories will go for elections along with 60 Assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh and 32 Assembly seats in Sikkim. Out of the 102 Lok Sabha seats, there are 73 general seats, while there are 11 ST and 18 SC seats.

If we look at the worth of the candidates who are in the election race, the richest candidate has Assets worth Rs 716 crore, while the least worth is Rs 320. As per the data revealed by the Association for Democratic Reforms, there are 450 Crorepatis out of 1625 candidates. However, ten candidates said that they have no assets.

Kamal Nath is the sitting MP from the Chhindwara seat in Madhya Pradesh. He was the Chief Minister. His son Nakul Nath is the richest candidate with a worth of Rs 716 Cr. AIADMK candidate from the Erode seat Ashok Kumar is in second place with Rs 662 cr worth. BJP’s candidate from the Sivaganga seat Devanathan Yadav is in next place with Rs 304 cr. BJP candidate Rajya Laxmi Shah who is contesting from the Tehri Garhwal seat in Uttarakhand is in fourth place with Rs 206 cr. BSP candidate Majid Ali from the Saharanpur seat in Uttar Pradesh has a worth of Rs 159 cr and is in fifth place. Ponraj K who is contesting as the independent candidate from Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu said that he has just Rs 320.
