While this is the case with the nation some of the places are quite hot breaking the previous highest temperature. One place is getting all the attention with its temperature.
The Nagpur city in Maharashtra became the talk of the town with its temperature. Two automatic weather stations in Nagpur recorded the highest temperatures. While the AWS station in Sonegaon recorded 54 degrees, the IMD centre recorded 56 degrees making the two centres one of the hottest places.
This grabbed everyone's attention on whether Nagpur really recorded the highest temperature. With this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) came forward to issue a clarification. The weather body said that the temperature was not correct and the temperature measuring sensor did not work properly.
The regional body said that the reports of high temperature in Nagpur are not true and the temperature was not officially declared. The body also said that the maximum temperature at the AWS is 44 degrees Celsius.
It is known that the Automatic Weather Stations are installed in various places to measure the temperature. However, the stations sometimes fail to measure the temperature, raising many doubts on the authenticity.
This is not the first time AWS has gone wrong with the measurements. Recently the national capital Delhi experienced a similar thing. A weather station recorded 52.9 degrees Celsius making it the highest temperature. However, it turned out to be a mis-measurement as there was an alleged error in the sensor.
