Pakistan will face the general elections in February. Scheduled on the 8th of February. The election fever gripped the nation and the majority of the polling booths in the country fall under the sensitive areas. Ahead of the elections, Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has been facing back-to-back blows.

Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faced a big blow as the party was asked to not hold the campaign for the elections. The same is the case with Imran Khan's constituency as well.

As if that is not enough Imran Khan was slapped with 10 years of jail. In a much-talked-about case, Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were sentenced to a jail term of 10 years. The former Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister were sentenced to jail terms.

If we have to take anything from the media reports, Imran Khan and Qureshi were sentenced in connection with the Cipher Case on the grounds of leaking sensitive documents as far as the country is concerned.

The case has been under investigation for some time. Hearing the case, the verdict was given. Many say that this could be the end of Imran Khan's career. The only possibility to change the verdict is Imran Khan moving the Supreme Court.

It is known that Imran Khan is in jail on corruption charges. The case talks about the alleged leakage of sensitive data. When Iram Khan was the Prime Minister of Pakistan, sensitive data was leaked reportedly. The evidence produced in the court reportedly says that Imran Khan and Qureshi are guilty in the case.

A few months back, he was arrested on corruption charges. His arrest led to widespread protests in the country as his supporters hit the road to show their anger against this. An additional jail term was imposed on him now.
