The National capital Delhi has been receiving massive attention as it is the venue for the global event G20 Summit. India is hosting the two-day summit and the dignitaries will land in India soon. The Indian government made massive arrangements for the summit to see that the guests wouldn't have any issues.

More than the summit, the invitations sent to the guests had caught everyone’s attention. While sending the invitations to the guests, the Rashtrapati Bhawan did not send the invitations in the name of the President of India as used usually.

As per the media reports, the invitations were sent with the President of Bharat written on them. The purported clicks of the invitations went viral on social media triggering widespread concerns and criticism from the opposition parties.

The opposition parties are slamming the BJP-led Centre for its alleged move to rename India as Bharat. Though there is no official word on this from the Union government or the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the opposition parties are breathing fire on the BJP.

All these developments started a debate on whether India will be renamed as Bharat. It is known that the Bharatiya Janata Party has been on a spree of changing the names of places. Allahabad was renamed as Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. In Maharashtra Aurangabad and Osmanabad were renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and Dharashiv respectively. Despite the uproar, the changes were not stopped.

The BJP is focusing on what the leaders are dubbing the process as cultural revitalization. Many famous temples were renovated and Kashi can be cited as an example. The Kashi-Vishwanath Corridor Project which aims at connecting the temple and the ghats was inaugurated last year by PM Modi himself.

Another big development that needs to be mentioned here is that recently 'sengol' was installed in the new Lok Sabha chamber. While the BJP said that the Sengol which was given to Jawaharlal Nehru commemorating the transfer of power from British rule to the Indians was kept aside, they are honoring it by installing it in the house, the opposition slammed this and the controversy grabbed the attention of international media as well.

Considering all these, many say that it would not be a wonder if India is renamed as Bharat by the ruling BJP. Moreover, the elections are due in a few states, and much-awaited Lok Sabha elections are slated to commence next year. So anything can happen here.
