Why is Jagan keenly watching Sharmila's moves?

Is YSRCP boss and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy worried about the rise of the Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh? Despite the bravado, Jagan is said to be keenly watching the activities of the Congress Party in the state. He is said to be keeping a tab on estranged sister YS Sharmila's moves and on the disgruntled YSRCP leaders, who are in touch with her.

Sources say that Jagan did not take lightly the resignation of Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and his subsequent overtures to the Congress Party. Jagan took extra care to ensure that Alla comes back to the YSRCP fold. He is said to be talking to other disgruntled YSRCP leaders too to dissuade them from moving close towards the Congress party led by his sister Sharmila.

Jagan is also said to be concerned about YS Sharmila's attempts to forge unity with the Left parties. On Tuesday, the Left parties organized a meeting in Vijayawada to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming elections. Congress leaders were not just present, but have also reportedly convinced the Left parties to enter into an alliance with it.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP top leadership is also keeping an eye on those meeting YS Sharmila. Sources say that some YSR acolytes and former associates, who are fed up with YS Jagan's ways, are said to be moving towards Sharmila. Jagan is said to be alarmed at this development.
