Public representatives are elected to be the voice of the public and that they can meet the legislators if they have any issues. It is the responsibility of the legislators to meet people to know their problems and issues. However an MP landed in a row over the rule she put up for the meet.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut made a big political debut recently. She won the Mandi seat from her home state Himachal Pradesh and became an MP. Speaking to the media she said that those who want to meet her should follow a rule.

The MP said that people who want to meet her from Mandi should carry their Aadhar Card and they should write on paper the purpose of their visit. She said that they can meet her at the party office.

Giving the reason for this the MP said that tourists come there in big numbers and the locals might face issues. So if they have any issues in the region then the locals can meet her with an Aadhar Card.

Kangana Ranaut said that others can also meet her but they can meet her at her house in Manali. Looks like the MP wants to separate locals from the visitors so that the issues can be addressed.

However Aadhaar mandatory for meeting her in Mandi constituency created a big row with people asking what happens if a non local person has any issues in Mandi and wants to meet her for assistance.

The MP or MLA should look into the issues that happen within the jurisdiction. But Kangana asking locals to carry the Aadhaar Card did not go well with many.

The Congress did not take much time to attack her and asked what is the need for such a rule. Vikramaditya Singh who contested the Mandi seat and lost came down severely on the MP over her statement.

He said that public representatives should meet the public that comes to meet them and the identity should not be the criteria.
