Why Kavitha Is Not Contesting As An MLA Candidate?
If Kavitha gears up to contest as an MLA, Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind might also contest as an MLA to defeat her.

His son KTR is the IT Minister and holds a few other portfolios. His nephew Harish Rao is serving as the Finance Minister. KCR’s other nephew Joginapally Santosh Kumar is a Rajya Sabha member.
Despite the strong space of the family, KCR’s daughter Kavitha is not contesting as an MLA and many wonder why. A big discussion is going on about what is stopping her from trying her luck as an MLA. It's not that electoral politics are new for her and she served as the MP earlier.
It is said that Kavitha wants to contest as an MLA as it opens the door to becoming a cabinet Minister. However, the idea is not supported by her father KCR. There are a few reasons behind this.
Many ask why Kavitha won't contest as the MLA as she earlier contested as an MP. But it is said that there are a few calculations behind this. The opposition parties are very aggressive and won't leave any stone unturned to give a shock to the ruling BRS.
We have seen this with the Nizamabad MP election. The BJP had put in its best efforts to defeat her. If Kavitha gears up to contest as an MLA, Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind might also contest as an MLA to defeat her.
The same is the case with the grand old Congress party. The opposition party in Telangana will also go all out to defeat the CM’s daughter. Kavitha already lost the MP election in the past and the ruling party cannot afford another defeat of Kavitha.
Considering all these factors the BRS boss is believed to have said no to the proposal to contest as MLA. Another thing is that the party might have failed to pick a sure-shot seat where Kavitha can win for sure. Instead of taking a risk, the party might have decided to not field her as an MLA candidate.
However, the political observers say that the possibility of Kavitha becoming MLA cannot be put to rest. It is known that KCR is contesting from two MLA seats. Besides sticking to his Gajwel seat, the Chief Minister is also contesting from the Kamareddy seat as well. It is said that KCR might give one of the two seats to her daughter if everything goes well.
