Telangana CM KCR and his nephew and political acolyte Harish Rao have once again followed their little personal ritual of offering special prayers at a local temple. For both the leaders traditionally perform a special pooja at the Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Konaipally village of Nangunur mandal in Siddipet district before signing on their nomination papers.

On Saturday, KCR went to the temple, performed pooja and then signed on the nomination papers in the presence of local BRS leaders. The nomination papers were then placed at the feet of the deity. MLC Kura Raghottam Reddy, zilla parishad chairperson Veleti Roja Sharma and others were present on the occasion.

KCR began this ritual in 1985 elections. Then onwards, he did the same in 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2018. Similarly, his nephew Harish Rao too followed the same ritual. For the past seven elections, he paid a visit to the temple, offered special pooja and then signed on the nomination papers.

Meanwhile, chief minister KCR completed the Rajasyamala Yagam in his farmhouse. The yagam is aimed at propitiating the mother Goddess to grant the boon of victory to the performer. The yagam was officiated by Visakha Sarada Peetham seer Swamy Swaroopanandendra Saraswati and his disciples.
