The party has no representation in the state. This is the plight of the party in the divided state. But there is a big change in the party now.
The Congress party received a big buzz at once with YSR's daughter Sharmila joining the party fold under a dramatic turn of events. With this, the debate was started on who would join the Congress. Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy already said that he would walk with Sharmila.
With this, discussions are going on about whether the senior leaders in Congress would be active and work hard for the party. Former MP Lagadapati Rajgopal is among the possible list of leaders as per the reports. Adding fuel to this, the ex-MP met the other former MPs.
This meeting was enough to start a debate on the possible return of Lagadapati Rajgopal into active politics. When so much was being said the ex-MP reacted to this and ruled out the possibility. He said that there is no question of returning to politics. I will not return to space, he said.
He also said that the national parties have no role in the state(Andhra Pradesh) and the fight is only between the regional parties. On the occasion, Lagadapati expressed his happiness over Congress coming to power in Telangana.
Lagadapati Rajagopal who was the Vijayawada MP back then created a sensation with his pepper spray action. In the Parliament, he used pepper spray which forced the MPs in the House to run out in fear. Many say that the attack added fuel to the tense situations of the state bifurcation process.
