Getting Laptops From Foreign, Check Out This!

The union government imposed restrictions on the imports of laptops, tabs, personal computers, and other items from foreign. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a release saying that the restrictions will come into effect with immediate effect. However, a few relaxations were also given.

However, those who buy items in e-commerce portals were given an exemption. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that restrictions are issued for laptops, tabs, personal computers, Ultra small form factor computers, and servers under the "H.S.N 8741".

However, the restrictions were eased for laptops, tabs, and computers brought on e-commerce platforms. On top of this, items imported for research and development, benchmarking, and repairs would not attract the restrictions.

However, the Centre said that the items imported under this should not be sold to others under any situation. Once the work is completed, the laptops and tabs should be destroyed or imported back, it said.

The Ministry said that those who import laptops and tabs from foreign under the baggage rules will not attract the restrictions. At the time of luggage checking, if the required documents are shown to the customs authorities.
