Lokesh Babu’s Delhi tour: Why? How? What? Whom?

Why is Nara Lokesh suddenly leaving for New Delhi in a special plane to New Delhi? Ostensibly, he is leaving for New Delhi along with MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, to discuss the possibility of approaching the Supreme Court to get a bail for Chandrababu Naidu if the High Court does not favour him.

However, he is said to be meeting several political leaders from various national parties to apprise them of Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest. The TDP honchos are disappointed that there is no buzz about Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest in New Delhi. Except Mamta Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav, not many reacted to his arrest

So, Lokesh is likely to meet several leaders to drum up support for his father. Secondly, he is also likely to make efforts to open channels with the BJP by personally meeting some key handlers. These handlers might help him in opening channels with the BJP, which has remained largely silent on Chandrababu’s arrest.

Meanwhile, he is likely to ask Pawan Kalyan to use his influence with the BJP top brass and help forge an alliance with the TDP-Jana Sena combine. If that happens, then the combo would be a formidable force in Andhra Pradesh and would be in a position to take on the might of the YSRCP.

Thus, Lokesh Babu’s sudden lift-off to Delhi has considerable significance, say political observers. But, the biggest point is whether he would be in a position to influence the BJP, which is led by Machiavellian politicians like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, who have no love lost for Chandrababu Naidu due to latter’s past actions.
