Medicare Fraud: Indian Doctor Found Guilty In US!

Doctors enjoy good respect in society given their noble profession. This is the same case with any country in the world. However often we see some unfortunate incidents which put the community in a bad light. Once such an incident came to light that talked about a scam.

Going into details a medicare fraud came to light and an Indian doctor was found guilty in the case. It is said that the doctor prescribed braces to the patients even when they did not need them. With the help of a few telemarketers, the doctor tricked them.

The worth of the scam is said to be around $5.4 million. It is said that the Indian doctor advised the Medicare patients to go for the braces of selected companies. Without even a proper diagnosis, the doctor used to advise the braces to the patients.

The media reports say that the fraudsters used to target the selected patients. The doctor dials the patients and advises them to take the braces. The Issue reached the higher authorities and in a big development, the Indian doctor was found guilty in the case.

It is said that he is facing a few counts of charges in the case and each count might result in ten years in jail. As if that is not enough he might also face five years for perjury.

The observers say that scams in the health care system is a very big issue and what happened might serve as a big example in stopping people from doing such things in the future again.
