Now it is the term of Microsoft to do the same as the mega tech giant has announced that they’re imposing a voluntary retirement program in the United States for the first time in the company history.
According to developments, Microsoft is offering a one-time voluntary retirement program for the first time in its 51-year history, giving nearly 10,000 U.S. employees a chance to leave with a financial payout
Microsoft will be paying the entire tenure of the employees who opt for this retirement program, and this is one of the major layout off operations carried out by the company in recent times.
It is reported that Microsoft is offering this retirement program to 7% of its workforce in the United States, which is a pretty significant number by itself. What is evident is that the company is looking to let go off the human workforce, even at the cost of financial expenses.
This comes shortly after Meta announced that the company is also firing 8000 workers effectively immediately. The strange coincidence in the layoff operations of these two mega companies is becoming a topic of discussion in the technological sector.
With mega companies like Microsoft and Meta also indulging in such activities we have to see if smaller and medium companies would also follow the same route in the days to follow.
