Minister Post For Mahender Reddy? What's The Reason?

BRS chief KCR is adamant about winning the next elections and coming to power again. BRS is ahead of other parties and the candidates list was announced already. As part of this, leaders who won on Congress tickets and joined BRS were also granted tickets. Leaders who have been with the BRS since its inception faced a shock.

Tandur's former MLA, MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy was not given a ticket. Pilot Rohit Reddy who won the Tandur seat in 2018 polls from the Congress party and later joined the BRS was given a ticket. With this, reports started doing rounds that Patnam Mahender Reddy was looking at leaving the party.

However, KCR is not ready to leave him as the BRS would face a big shock in the combined Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts. Patnam Mahender Reddy is the nephew of late former Minister Indra Reddy. Indra Reddy served as the Home Minister in the combined state.

After his demise, his wifeSabitha Indra Reddy ventured into politics. She won elections from Chevella and Maheshwaram seats from the Congress party and became Minister. She is a member of the KCR's cabinet as well. Sabitha Indra Reddy is Patnam Mahender Reddy's aunt.

On the other hand, his brother Patnam Narender Reddy is MLA from the Kodangal seat in the Mahbubnagar district. He defeated Revanth Reddy in the last elections. Mahender Reddy's wife Sunitha is serving as the Zilla Parishad chairperson. She served as the chairperson in the past too. Avinash Reddy, Mahender Reddy's brother's son is ZPTC. Patnam family has a big political history.

Many say that realising his importance, KCR gave him a chance to become MLC despite losing as an MLA in 2018. He was taken into the Cabinet when KCR became the CM for the first time. Now he is said to have got the Minister post with the same political equations.

It is said that KCR came up with the idea to give him a Minister post as there is a chance for the opponents to utilize the situation. To see that the opposition parties will not have any advantage, he took the decision, observers say.
