India is the biggest democracy in the world. Now the biggest democracy saw a historic stint with the Parliament building which has been serving us for 75 years becoming old. The sessions were started in the newly constructed building. There was an emotional environment at the Central Hall. Later, members of both houses walked into the new building. While the Prime Minister walked at the front, MPs followed him. The main pillar of Indian democracy, the Constitution, was shifted to the new building.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled his journey when he first entered the house and assumed the office of Prime Minister. Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 12 years. He became the Chief Minister without becoming the MLA. With the 2014 polls, he entered national politics.

He became the Prime Minister with the BJP recording a landslide win. He bowed down before the Parliament entrance when he entered the house for the first time. This became a big sensation back then. Many said that Modi gave the biggest respect for Parliament which is the house of democracy.

Today, the Prime Minister and the members played the National anthem after entering the new hall. The proceedings started after the members had their seats. The Speaker made an address and then the Prime Minister started his speech. He said that it is auspicious to start the new Parliament building on the eve of Vinayaka Chaturthi. We should take new aspirations into the new hall. The Prime Minister dubbed the new building as an amalgamation of old democratic spirit and new Indianness.

The construction of the new Parliament building started during the tenure of the Modi government. It was constructed under the Central Vista project. As the construction was finished, it was started by the hands of Modi. This helped him to take part in a historic stint. Many say that the new Parliament would be a platform for historic decisions. Let us wait and see.
