PM Modi Serves Food at Sikh Temple Ahead of Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made a notable visit to the Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib Gurdwara, where he actively participated in serving food to devotees in its langar. This act of 'seva', or selfless service, garnered widespread attention, with photos of PM Modi engaged in this humble task quickly going viral.

In the shared photo, PM Modi can be seen personally serving food to Sikh people from a steel bucket, while those receiving the meal express their gratitude towards him. Additionally, he assisted the Gurdwara management in cooking food for the langar, demonstrating his commitment to serving others.

The visit was marked by elaborate security arrangements due to the significance of the gurdwara and the expected presence of a large number of devotees. Takhat Sri Patna Sahib, also known as Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib, holds a special place in Sikhism as one of the five takhats.

This historical gurdwara was commissioned by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 18th century to commemorate the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. Guru Gobind Singh, known for his valor and spiritual teachings, was born in Patna in 1666. Before relocating to Anandpur Sahib, he spent his formative years in this city, enriching it with his presence and teachings.
