Some of the biggest and premier institutions in the world have been consistently, remembering their human workforce due to the alignment with artificial intelligence and multiple other factors.

On that note, we have something pretty significant that is happening now as of the leading global technological companies in the form of Oracle has taken the big decision of firing a substantial number of workers.

The latest developments are suggesting that Oracle has decided to fire as many as 21,000 employees in the last one year as its global headcount fell down.

Oracle’s head count fell from roughly 162,000 to 141,000 in fiscal 2026, a decline of about 13%, while the company said AI adoption across its operations has already contributed to workforce reductions and may continue to do so.

Oracle is effectively telling the market that the next version of technological advancement is less labor-heavy and far more AI-heavy. It should not be a surprise if many other companies take this same path in the near future.

The company spent $1.84 billion on severance and other exit costs tied to restructuring, while continuing to push deeper into AI cloud infrastructure. This would essentially mean that the company is ready to pay humongous money to let go off their employees and install AI systems.

If this trend continues in the near future than the human workforce, capital in AI and tech technological sector could take a massive beating.
