It is an established fact that the Pithapuram assembly constituency is one of the most interesting Assembly segments in all of Andhra Pradesh as it is represented by Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan. After the shambolic electoral campaign in 2019, where Pavan ended up losing from Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka, he shifted to Pithapuram constituency and was accepted by the people there.

After having won Pithapuram constituency by record margin of over 70,000 votes, Pawan Kalyan had repeatedly claimed that he is committed to work for the betterment of the constituency.

However, there is this one viral video that is trending on social media now, and it certainly does not make for a good viewing for Janasena supporters and social media activists.

In this video, we see the former TDP MLA from Pithapuram constituency SVSN Varma. He is seen interacting with the locals in Pithapuram when one of the woman who is standing on the road, asks him to contest in the next election. The implication here is that Dee Pitapuram people want Varma as their MLA next term rather than Pawan Kalyan himself.

This video is shared from Varma’s point of view. But nevertheless, it is perhaps a reflection of the ground level reality in the Pithapuram constituency.

It can be noted that Pawan Kalyan had recently addressed the people of Pitapuram and said he would be readily assessing the situation in the constituency once every week and getting detailed reports on the same. However, the complaint is the lack of availability of Kalyan in the constituency after the election.

But it must also be understood that Kalyan is the deputy chief minister of the state, and he has a lot more government oriented duties. So it has to be seen how he would deal with the situation in Pitapuram, which is turning problematic by the day.
