Nine years after the bifurcation of Telangana from the combined Andhra Pradesh, the issue found itself in the middle of the headlines. The issue was mentioned in the Parliament House today and this brought the focus on it and various events around the bifurcation and the following events.

The special Parliament sessions started today. The session can be seen as the last session in the existing Parliament building. It is known that a new Parliament building was constructed and the Parliament sessions on Tuesday will be held in the new building.

In his farewell speech in the old Parliament building, the Prime Minister made a moving speech and mentioned many aspects. But his comments on the state bifurcation grabbed everyone’s attention.

Narendra Modi said that the Parliament building saw many things including the state bifurcation of formation. Talking about the issue, the PM said that the states were not divided on a good note and the people of both states are not happy. There was a lot of blood spilled, he said.

The Indian Prime Minister spoke about the bifurcation of Telangana and drew a comparison with the formation of states like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand and how things went on smoothly.

Three states were formed during the tenure of former Prime Minister Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. No issues arose with this. But Telangana bifurcation was not like that and a lot of blood spilled, he said.

“But in the case of bifurcation Andhra Pradesh state, it was not like that. Neither the Telangana nor the Andhra Pradesh states have celebrated the formation of new states. There was a lot of blood spilled,” the Prime Minister said in the house.
