Post the Lok Sabha elections there has been a big debate on the EVMs. There are allegations that the machines can be tampered with. The opposition Congress made the allegations. The picture is not any different in Andhra Pradesh. The opposition YCP is making these comments.

Former CM Jagan indirectly raised the comments. In a post, he said there is a need to move to ballot papers from EVMs. Former Minister Roja also said the same. She said many countries are using ballot papers. Roja said people sitting in the US are saying that EVMs can be hacked.

With this YCP’s stand on EVMs was clear. Amid this, a YCP leader gave a contrasting view. A former MLA said that the opinion of EVMs tampering is false and it is not possible.

YCP leader Rapaka Vara Prasada Rao who contested from the Amalapuram MP seat made crucial comments. He said that the allegations of EVM tampering are false. Talking about the defeat, he highlighted the three parties coming together.

Rapaka said earlier the three parties contested alone and they know how many votes were polled. This time the parties contested together and votes were polled in big numbers. The former MLA said that the votes of the parties combined together and resulted in the seats.

Interestingly, the YCP leader gave a contrasting view on this. When the party is alleging possible tampering he rubbished the rumours and said the parties contesting together is the main reason.

Rapaka Vara Prasada Rao was with Janasena and won the Razole seat. He was the sole MLA of Janasena. However, he started traveling with YCP which was in power last term. With this Janasena kept its distance from him. YCP gave him the MP ticket. However, he lost the seat.
