Red Signal For Gummanur Jayaram In Guntakal!

He hails from the Kurnool district. He won from the Aluru seat in 2014 and 2019. As he was not granted the Aluru ticket he left the party.
TDP is said to have assured him a ticket. But not from Aluru as there are candidates for the TDP. It is said that the former Minister might be fielded as the candidate from the Guntakal seat in Anantapur. It has been reported that Jayaram might be given a ticket and the reports sent shocking waves in the party.
TDP leaders are not happy with this as they are not ready to support a non-local who is from a neighboring district. A few leaders staged a protest in front of the TDP office and expressed their anger. They are angry with the leadership.
The angry leaders say that the Guntakal seat should be given to former MLA Jitender Goud. They say that they will not support if others are given the ticket saying that leaders who change parties have no place here.
Talking about the Guntakal constituency it has the image of the stronghold of the Congress party. In 2009 Madhusudan Gupta won the seat. In 2014 TDP leader R. Jitender Goud won the seat. In the last elections, YCP leader Y Venkatarami Reddy won the seat and the YCP is likely to change the candidate.
Jitender Goud has been working hard for the TDP for the past five years. His followers are hopeful that he will get the ticket again. There are many aspirants in the TDP. The party leaders say that they will not support Jayaram who has been with the YCP so far.
Gummanur Jayaram has been saying that he is local there and flaunting the connection he has with Guntakal. He is also hopeful of winning the elections. When he was high on confidence the TDP faced a big jolt as the TDP leaders were opposing the move. Janasena candidates are also eyeing the seat.
Madhusudan Gupta who contested the last elections on the Janasena ticket is also eyeing the seat. Gummanur Jayaram started his political career in 2009 with the Praja Rajyam Party. He lost his first election. He won twice as YCP candidate and was made the Minister. Now he is changing his district and changing the party along with the constituency. Now we have to wait and see how his future would be in Guntakal.
