It is already known that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana politics have started to interlude increasingly after Pawan Kalyan started firing on Congress government for stopping his event in Hyderabad.

Now, Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy has added more fire to this scenario by commenting on Vizag Metro project that was approved by the central government recently.

Revanth Reddy commented in front of the press today that the central government has approved Vizag Metro and this city happens to have lesser land area than Jubilee Hills and Madhapur combined. He gave the implication that Vizag is much smaller than Hyderabad urban pockets, but it still got the Metro approval while Hyderabad is lingering for the same.

The previous government did not focus on expanding the Metro Rail network. Instead, rather than moving forward with L&T, it attempted at the last minute to call for tenders for a metro corridor from Gachibowli to the International Airport via the Outer Ring Road, a route that would benefit certain real estate interests.

Instead of prioritizing areas where public demand for metro connectivity was high, the proposal focused on areas where passenger traffic was comparatively low and where the need for metro services was less pressing.

As a result, efforts were directed toward corridors that would increase the value of certain assets and developments, while metro expansion in areas genuinely needed by the public did not take place, Revanth reddy said.

This frequent war of words between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana government representatives has become a standard practice these days. It has been more than indicate since the separation of the Telugu states and things are still looking litigative between the two of them.
