Before and after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards hold a special importance for the film and TV industry. The awards aim at honoring talent in various crafts. Earlier the Telangana government decided to replace the Nandi Awards with the Gaddar Awards. Revanth Reddy announced this earlier this year.

However, there is no further information on the awards and how the awards will be distributed. Now Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made key comments on the awards and expressed his dissatisfaction over the film industry not responding to the Gaddar Awards.

The birth anniversary of celebrated poet C. Narayana Reddy aka CiNaRe was held in Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy was present at the occasion and addressed the gathering. The poet who was famous as a lyricist is a Jnanpith Award winner.

Highlighting the valuable contribution the poet had made Revanth Reddy said that to honor him the Nandi Awards were named after Gaddar and the awards distribution would be held on lines with the Nandi Awards. However, he wondered why the film industry did not come up with suggestions on this.

On the occasion, Revanth Reddy said that from the same stage, he earlier proposed to distribute awards in the name of Gaddar Awards. But the film industry did not come forward. Calling Mr Gaddar as the fine diamond of Telangana, the CM said that the awards ceremony would be held grandly as Nandi Awards.

Highlighting that the prominent film personalities had not come to the government on the proposals yet, the Chief Minister urged them to come up with the proposals at least now. He made it clear that the government wants to distribute the awards on Gaddar and there is no second thought on this, he urged them to come forward.
