Is the BJP planning to deploy the dedicated and loyal RSS cadres for booth management in the upcoming elections to Telangana? Those in the know say yes. They claim that the senior RSS leaders and the BJP thinking heads have already held a meeting on the issue and have decided to mobilise the RSS workers for booth management.
Sources say party incharge Sunil Bansal, former state president Dr K Laxman and Bandi Sanjay have met the RSS leaders recently and discussed the political situation in the state. The BJP has already appointed a convener and two co-conveners for each of the 119 assembly constituencies in the state. It now wants the RSS to help on the voter mobilization.
The BJP sees a good chance of winning in at least 30 seats. It has identified those seats and has reportedly decided to deploy the cadres from weaker constituencies where the party does not stand a chance. The RSS will coordinate the campaign in these selected constituencies where the party has a brighter chance.
The RSS has a significant presence in the rural Telangana and has its sakhas in most villages. Of late, the RSS has conducted several mass contact programmes and has a large data base of supporters sympathetic to its cause. It also has in its contact, several religious personalities and seers who can tilt the scales in several constituencies.
The entry of RSS could help the BJP get back its mojo, say those in the know. The BJP and RSS leaders are now working for better coordination among the cadres.
