Tamil Nadu is a Dravidian heartland and the ideology often sees itself against Hinduism. Leaders making objectionable comments against the belief is not new and the trend has been going on for a few decades. If we look at the history of state politics, the trend is quite evident.

Chief Minister Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin earlier created a political sensation with his objectionable comments against Sanatana Dharma. He gave a call to eradicate it and equated it to a contagious disease.

The State Cabinet Minister made these comments at a meeting. As if that was not enough the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Minister was also present there and he did not say anything on Stalin's comments.

His comments created a big uproar and a few activists took strong objection to it. FIRs were filed at many places against him. With this, the Minister moved the Supreme Court to club all the FIRs together and hear together.

His petition came for a hearing and the Supreme Court made crucial comments. The Apex Court rapped Junior Stalin for his comments and said he should have known the consequences of such comments. The next hearing was scheduled for Monday.

The bench of justices comprising Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta observed that Udhayanidhi Stalin misused a few rights and again knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court to seek protection.

Saying that he is in the responsible position of a Minister and he is not a layman, the bench observed that he should have known the consequences of such comments.

Udhayanidhi Stalin made sensational comments on Sanatana Dharma and said that there is discrimination and hence Draupadi Murmu who is a widow was not invited to the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
