It is known that Bangladesh is dealing with unrest. The government changed and the interim government took charge. While the situation is yet to be brought under control the focus went on to Cricket and whether the players would travel to other countries for the pre-planned series.

However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is said to be working on the same and the planned series would go on as per the schedule. Bangladesh is slated to play a Test series hosted by Pakistan next week. This marks the first outing of Bangladesh after the country was hit by the unrest.

Cricketer-turned-MP Shakib Al Hasan was given a green signal to play the series. It is said that the board gave its nod for the re-entry of the veteran player into the team for the series.

There were many doubts about his future post the violence. He became an MP on the Awami League party ticket. However, the government was dissolved after the interim government took charge. Since then there have been a few doubts about his cricketing future.

A few experts say that Shakib Al Hasan’s experience might have worked in his favour. Bangladesh had lost all the Test series it played against Pakistan and to change the status quo he might have been given a green signal. He comes in handy as a batsman and bowler too.
